Mortgage/Payment Information Screen

The Mortgage/Payment Information screen contains information relating to setting up and managing the details of a homeowner's mortgage. You can open the Mortgage/Payment Information screen by choosing Finances > Mortgage/Escrow Payments or by clicking the button in the Keystone toolbar.

If you try to open this screen with the Loading Mortgage History box checked in Affiliate Setup, you will see a message reminding you that you must turn Loading History off before resuming day-to-day data entry in Keystone.

Fields in the Homeowner(s) Selection pane

This pane is used to select the homeowner whose mortgage information you wish to work with.

By default, only homeowners with mortgages marked as being active in Keystone are included in this list. To make all family partners available, check the Show All check box found at the bottom right of the Mortgage/Payment Information screen.

Drop-down

Each homeowner has a unique ID number. If you know the family partner's ID number, you can select it from the ID drop-down list.

Name(s)

Drop-down

The homeowner for whom you wish to review or enter mortgage information. Select from the drop-down list available in this field.

If there are two people in one family partner record and they have different last names, you can find them under either last name in the Name(s) drop-down list.

Double-clicking this field takes you to the Family Partners screen, where you can view additional information about the homeowners in the list. When you are finished with the Family Partners screen, click the Return button to return to this screen.

Active

Check box

Indicates that the mortgage for this homeowner is being actively tracked in Keystone. Checking this box causes the homeowner to appear by default among the homeowners in the Name(s) drop-down list and allows payment information to be recorded for them.

Uncheck this box if the mortgage is no longer active. You will not be allowed to uncheck it if the homeowner's Family Partnership Level is set to V or VI. An error message will appear to remind you of this.

When you uncheck this box for a mortgage, the mortgage will continue to appear on your screen until you close the screen and then reopen it.

Address

Read-only

Displays the address associated with the selected homeowner. For homeowners with active mortgages, this should be the address of the property for which the mortgage is held.

Double-clicking on this field takes you to the Property Address screen, where you can view additional information about the selected homeowner’s Property Address. When you are finished with the Property Address screen, click the Return button to return to this screen.

Read-only

Displays a reference number that identifies the mortgage internally.  Many affiliates number their houses consecutively and use the house number in this field.

City

Read-only

The city of the homeowner's address.

State

Read-only

The two-letter state abbreviation of the homeowner's address.

Postal Code

Read-only

The Postal Code (ZIP Code in the U.S.) of the homeowner's address.

Show All

Check box

Check this box if you want homeowners with both active and inactive mortgages to be displayed in the Name(s) field. It is located in the lower right portion of the screen.

Special Message Area

Special messages are displayed in the area to the left and below the Close button, as well as above the Payment button. These messages are displayed in red as a warning that the homeowner’s status may require special treatment. These messages are: 

Tabs on the Mortgage/Payment Information screen

In the lower portion of the Mortgage/Payment Information screen are five tabs that contain information about mortgage payments for the selected homeowner. The fields on these tabs are described on their respective Help sections.

Buttons

Five buttons are also provided on the Mortgage/Payment Information screen for the purpose of accessing other mortgage functions.
